‘Freedom, however, is not the last word. Freedom is only part of the story and half of the truth. Freedom is but the negative aspect of the whole phenomenon whose positive aspect is responsibleness. In fact, freedom is in danger of degenerating into arbitrariness unless it is lived in terms of responsibleness. That is why I recommend that the statue of Liberty on the East Coast be supplemented by a Statue of Responsibility on the West Coast’.

Freedom cannot be bought, nor successfully sought, and found, as a singular option. Freedom exists only via it’s counter part/s of which among responsibility, there a many.

Consider, the relevance of this philosophical excerpt, versus, the megalithic type monument that is ‘generally speaking’ fine arts based academia, and the equally prehistoric in nature, world of advertising, inextricably linked, to commercial art and design culture.

Add salt for effect… Herein lies a catalyst.

“Sed omnia praeclara tam difficilia quam rara sunt” Ethics of Spinoza.
Victor Frankle: Man’s Search for Meaning.pg154

Contemplating the above quote, surely this depends firstly upon where one is
looking, and secondly, what may be obscuring a clear vision?
